SSIS Data Engineer (Microsoft Analytics)

The role

We are looking for an experienced SSIS Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to large-scale data migration projects within the banking sector.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including Project Managers, Software Architects, and Engineers, working on integration-heavy, business-critical systems using established and modern data technologies.

This role requires strong hands-on expertise in SSIS, SQL, and data migration, combined with the ability to understand complex data structures and ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages to support data integration and migration processes
• Analyze source systems and define data mapping, transformation logic, and data flows
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries (T-SQL) for data extraction, transformation, and loading
• Work with MS SQL Server and/or Oracle databases to manage and process large datasets
• Implement and maintain ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance
• Participate in data migration projects, including data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution
• Support the deployment and execution of SSIS solutions across different environments
• Contribute to data modeling and integration design, ensuring alignment with business requirements
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver data solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in production and non-production environments

What we’re looking for (Core Skills & Experience)

• Strong experience in SSIS design and development
• Familiarity with SSIS deployment and execution processes
• Solid knowledge of SQL / T-SQL and relational databases
• Experience working with MS SQL Server and/or Oracle
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data integration
• Solid understanding of data modeling (e.g. normalization, star schema, data structures)
• Experience in data migration projects (ideally in banking or financial services)
• Basic understanding of C# within SSIS (Script Tasks / Components)
• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments
• Familiarity with Agile Project Management & Collaboration Tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and data quality
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional teams

What your qualifications look like

• 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering, with focus on SSIS and data migration
• Proven experience in banking or financial services projects (strongly preferred)
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Fluent in Greek and English (written and spoken)
